How We Collect Text Message Consent
LAST UPDATED: JULY 31, 2026
Capps Mens Cuts collects consent for appointment text messages verbally, in person at our shops or over the phone when a customer calls to book. This page documents exactly what our staff says and what a customer agrees to.
What our staff asks
When a customer books an appointment and gives us a mobile number, a member of our staff reads the following aloud. We do not enroll anyone who does not clearly say yes.
Verbal Opt-In Script
"Would you like a text confirmation and a reminder before your appointment? It's completely optional — we're happy to just call you instead."
If the customer says yes:
"Great. You'll get about one to two texts per appointment from Capps Mens Cuts — just your confirmation and reminder, no advertising. Message and data rates may apply depending on your plan. You can text STOP any time to cancel, or HELP if you need anything. Our privacy policy and text terms are on our website at cappsmenscuts.com."
Then, to confirm:
"Is it okay to send those to [customer repeats their mobile number]?"
How we record it
- Consent is only recorded after the customer verbally agrees. Staff mark the customer's record with the date the consent was given and the name of the staff member who took it.
- Customers who decline are booked normally and simply receive a phone call instead. Nothing about their appointment or service changes.
- Only the person who owns the mobile number may give consent for that number. We do not accept a number on someone else's behalf.
- Consent stays on file until the customer opts out by replying STOP or by asking us directly.
Consent is always optional
Agreeing to text messages is never a condition of booking an appointment or receiving service at Capps Mens Cuts. Our staff offer it as a choice and accept no as an answer without follow-up.
What we send
- Appointment confirmations when a booking is made
- Appointment reminders before the scheduled visit
- Notices about schedule changes, barber availability, or early closings
No marketing or promotional messages are sent under this program. Full details are in our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
How to stop messages
Reply STOP to any message from us, or call either shop and ask us to remove your number. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that.
